Verity is the first Colleen Hoover book I’ve read. I started Ugly Love but couldn’t get into it. I don’t understand all the rave reviews. This book did keep me reading, but the sex scenes were totally overdone. After one or two mentions, it’s like OK, we get it. And supposedly, the woman brought in to finish Verity’s book series is just a mediocre author but the husband admits that he has read her books and thought they were wonderful. That’s pretty much just one or two sentences. Never mentions what kinds of books she wrote or why he thought they were so fascinating when nobody else did. And when I got to the end of the book, the whole mystery was wrapped up so quickly and ridiculously. I’m only giving it 2 stars because it did keep me reading, but the end totally ruined it for me.
