the opening scene was great, and it gave me very high hopes, but those were quickly crushed. i’ve never been so pissed off by a movie. it strays very far away from the book, there is no character development, sam and eric aren’t even named, very big points in the novel are completely overshadowed and some even left out in the movie, and simon doesn’t even talk to the lord of the flies, and that’s the title!!
