I really liked it! Maybe even better than the animated . . .
Though odd to say about a mermaid and marine life that talk, but the live version seems a better portrayal of reality than the animated version. Ariel is less odd when not being able to speak, the character of Eric is much better and more believable, and King Triton’s strict rules about not going to the surface are more understood.
I loved Daveed Diggs as Sebastian!
One of my favorite parts was Scuttles rap!
