Sigh, these people writing good reviews have forgotten just how good movies used to be and now used to the horrid and shallow CGI spectacles that are churned out year by year.... where to start.... Gladiator 2 is pretty much a carbon copy of gladiator 1 story line albeit one ordered off ALIEXPRESS! 1) Main character, no believable backstory and he has as much screen prescence as an extra. 2) Denzel is fun to watch but with his American gangster accent looks like hes doing scenes from AMERICAN gangster and thus looks out of place, again a Oliver reed ordered from ALIEXPRESS 3) CGI Sharks, Rhinos and Baboons....no more explanation needed. 4) Opening Battle of original gladiator still looks fantastic and realistic even today, OPENING battle in this is CGI Avengers cheese, that looks fake and makes no sense historically at all. 5) MUSIC!....... what music? Original soundtrack was a hanz zimmer masterpiece still legendary today, this one has no distinguishing themes or standout pieces, its forgettable. 6) Villains, the twin emperors, over the top and poor compared to the cunning Commodus, again villains ordered from ALIEXPRESS. To summarize, this movie in an inferior copy of a much beloved film albeit done with no good story, no good soundtrack, no good action pieces, no good acting. Its story in-fact taints the original character of Maximus by implying he cheated on his murdered wife and thus sullying his honorable character. Ridley Scott really needs to retire now, hes in his 80's and this movie + Napoleon shows how far he has really fallen. Save your money and just watch the original. Strength and honour!
