S1: 6/10
Animation is really rough and unfinished, some of the stories are uninspired, and most of the new charters are underdeveloped. Yet the action, world design, score, sound design, voice acting, themes and world building are all really well done.
S2-6: 10/10
Animation is MUCH better, new and old characters are all interesting and likable, action is exciting and fluid, nice touches of comedy, storytelling and dialogue are top notch, score and sound design sound flawless, deep themes and story ideas are greatly explored, voice acting is perfect and the show still manages to have extremely detailed world building.
S7: 8/10
First two arcs are pretty bad, with the Bad Batch arc being boring, generic, and annoying in terms of storytelling and character writing. The Martez Sister arc is just completely pointless and hard to watch in almost every regard. But the positives of these two arcs were, of course, the voice acting and animation, considering how this had a budget made by Disney. However, the saving grace of this season was the Siege of Mandalore arc. These last four episodes are perhaps the greatest episodes of the entire Clone Wars series. Every. Single. Aspect of these episodes were put to perfection. The voice acting was fantastic, (props to Sam Witwer, Ashley Eckstein and Dee Bradley Baker). Animation was beautiful, with many scenes looking like they're from a film. The score was haunting and bombastic as hell. SOund design is brought up to the level of perfection. The characters like Rex, Maul and Ahsoka have evolved over time into some of the greatest characters in Star Wars. The story was tight, tense, smart, intriguing, epic, fun, funny and heartbreaking. (And for a bonus, the lightsaber fight between Maul and Ahsoka is probably one of the best lightsaber fights in all of Star Wars.)
Overall, The Clone Wars is a show that I have happily grew up with and I am proud to say that publicly. So much love and care went into this show from everyone involved. And because of this show, I have more appreciation of the prequels and Star Wars as a whole.
Thank you Dave Filoni for making my childhood.
