I generally love "all things British" in movies and series, as the writing is usually compelling, and the cast is always exceptional. This series, however, is simply simplistic and...not BAFTA... but... it's a mindless escape... and... perhaps that's sometimes enough.

I was most appreciative of the historical accuracy, writing, cast and beautiful locations in Marseilles. Sadly, the ironic parallels to current events in the U.S. with respect to ICE and the abuse of refugees and immigrants under the Trump dictatorship, question the values and introspection of the lessons portrayed here.

Rotten Tomatoes has hit it bang on.. or perhaps, a little too generous with its rating. It's mediocrity at every level, despite what should have been interesting subject matter. I was not able to discern even one redeeming quality.

Please don't ever discontinue this series.. especially when it comes to Indigenous communities. Jonny Harris hosts this beautiful series with simplicity, empathy and respect and, as a second generation Canadian, it evokes, not only interest, but pride, in the Canadian Spirit, it's First Nations Communities and all of the small towns that have survived and thrived because of this Canadian Spirit! Thank Goodness for CBC.

It's obvious that this has the "potential" to be a thriller with interesting twists, but there are two elements, from my perspective, which cause it to become painfully lacking: 1) the English dubbing from Spanish... totally loses it in translation! 2) Casting/acting is weak and, to put it bluntly... corny. It does not do justice to the Harlan Coban series.

Aside from loving that it's filmed in Toronto, the writing and the acting is STELLAR! The quality of this series does the Law and Order dynasty justice! (absolutely no pun intended)

The speed at which the lines are delivered, coupled with the blatant overacting, in my opinion, make this a truly disappointing vehicle for Kathy Bates.

Brilliantly written and acted... sadly not enough episodes!

"The quest of women" in movies, for me, is always inspirational... from The African Queen, to Shirley Valentine, to First Wines Club, to Fried Green Tomatoes... ad infinitum. When you assemble a stellar cast, especially like the brilliant ladies of The Miracle Club, the "inspiration" is only heightened. It works for me.
