Cliched, and mixing horror and comedy in a very, very uncomfortable fashion. And the romantic sub-plots are frankly ludicrous.

A HDS swansong, not unlike "The Shootist", which had John Wayne (referenced in this film, too, perhaps knowingly?) as another ageing cowboy surrounded by old pals. Where "The Shootist" had Jimmy Stewart and Lauren Bacall, this has Tom Skerritt (Alien) and David Lynch ("The Straight Story"). "Lucky" manages to be poignant and funny at the same time, and is a fitting tribute to a stylish and hard-working actor, who'd probably have hated that description!
