I'm currently watching this on Amazon Prime and it's worth every minute. I'm wondering how I missed it when it was on network TV. Patrick Jane can be arrogant and manipulative, but with his backstory about Red John one can forgive those traits. Especially since they're counterbalanced with entertaining humor and charm, being flat out adorable, and showing unshakeable loyalty to his CBI team members. You can also forgive Jane his faults when you see him dealing with the victims of the crimes, and the empathy he has in his eyes and his kindness with the victims. All the characters are strong and interesting in their own right and add to the storylines. I wasn't sure I was going to like the switch from CBI to FBI, but the changeover resulted in new characters and adds some additional humor to the show. I particularly like how Abbott decides to not fight Jane and to roll with him instead. This is one of the better series I've watched.
PS Pay attention to Agent Cho. His deadpan manner adds an unexpected and welcome flash of humor that's easy to miss. He's by far my favorite character.
