i don’t think that this show is offensively bad like everyone else seems to. it’s not GOOD, though. i don’t have issues with the animation or anything, but everything else is kinda like… awful? it’s just not scooby doo. if they wanted some pseudo-woke based “comedy” adult animation, they could’ve made it anything else. like you don’t need any previous knowledge on scooby doo to watch it. which COULD work i guess? but idk this show didn’t need to be scooby doo. i think the worst part of anything is just the “deep/edgy” humor. pointing out stereotypes or racism doesn’t make a show bad, it just feels forced in this instance. and i also don’t have an issue with velma being a lesbian (that’s canon) or some characters being different races than the original. that doesn’t discredit the entire show. what makes it bad is that it’s trying TOO hard. but also not enough? idk the jokes just aren’t funny. velma has too many flaws in this regard. velma says random, edgy jokes all the time that COULD work but it’s constant. not even just velma, but like the “(blank) these days” jokes are also annoying. idk this show wasn’t as offensively bad as i thought it would be, but it’s just not good. it isn’t funny. anyways yeah there’s my review, i gave it a 2/5 which WOULD be a 4/10 but i give it a 3/10.

interesting concept that wasn’t well executed. as well as lots of questionable cinematography choices and plot inconveniences that really took me out of the film. i think if the movie only focused on the hardships of the capa family, it would’ve been better. it could’ve been a serious psychological drama about this family going through serious misfortune, but it wasn’t that. the main rising action was boring and contradicting in a number of ways. the last few minutes of the film were the best (as contrived as they were), but it still wasn’t enough to save the poorly placed trailer lines, questionable writing, annoying secondary characters, embarrassing cinematography, and inappropriately placed plot conveniences and inconveniences. im rambling at this point but i would not recommend this movie to anybody. unless they were a horror fan that wanted to hate watch and laugh at a movie.

so bad. so genuinely bad. there’s so much gross, upsetting imagery and actions but the cherry on top is the god awful animation and voice acting. i wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, and i regret it’s involvement in my life.
