I read this book as an audio book on Audible. In fact, I’ve read it several times. I’ve read a number of biographies about the Beatles, the group, as well as individual biographies about John, Paul, & George. While Leslie isn’t as detailed about all the historical information about the Beatles (I’ve read enough other resources that I know most of these details already), I found most interesting the angle that Leslie takes to examine the relationship between John & Paul. Each chapter is entitled by one of their songs, and he often examines their relationship through the writing & recording of their music. While Leslie uses a lot of supposition and analysis of their emotions, motivations, and the intimate relationship between the two, I believe Leslie has done his research and based these insights on what he was able to glean from a variety of sources. Overall, I found the book an interesting read, and I came away with the impression that the two (John & Paul) had a unique bond that perhaps few men (or women for that matter) experience in a lifetime.
If you like reading about the Beatles, I think It is a well-written book, and worth the read.
