I adore these books! Pip has so much tenacity and despite the dark themes, has a lot of humour with her family, and with Ravi. I found that the tone of the TV show didn’t reflect that at all. Pip was vacant and nervous, and the humour from her dad was so quickly buried and made to look cringy. Shows and films don’t have to be carbon copies of the book, but to get the tone and main character so wrong is an injustice to the source material
