I have read through almost 30 one star reviews so far and every one of them is mad about the doctor being black, or gay, or the themes being too "woke". Well wake up, Doctor Who has always been about accepting differences, whether they be within ourselves or from different planets. Jack Harkness would be very dissppointed in all of you.
Not to mention that not a single one of those reviews actually focuses on the quality of acting or story telling, or how entertaining it is. I haven't watched Doctor Who in a while but I had a feeling with Ncuti being the new Doctor because his personality is so magnetic. And the feeling was right. These episode have brought me back to the excitement I had about each Doctor Who episodes growing up. The fact that Davies is back in the writing chair is so obvious, and each episode has had a captivating antagonist/monster and mysterious storyline. I've actually caught myself thinking "what is going on" and been hooked to watching till the end to find out, which is what Doctor Who is all about. Asking those questions. Where, what, when, why, and most importantly, WHO. Not to mention that the dynamic between the doctor and companion is just so natural and fun. I love this season. The acting is captivating. The atories are well paced with twists. The set design is really well done so far. I love the music and dancing added in. I'm excited to figure out the mystery behind Ruby and her mother and Chriatmas Eve. I have been thoroughly enjoying the episodes.
