I’ll start with I’m not surprised. That’s not good. I like to be surprised by music especially bands that I’ve known and liked for a long time. Nearly every song is in the key of D, literally zero change in the production since the last album, the production is too soft sounding for the music and too modernized, Lars’s drumming is the same old same old, kirks solos are the exact same and some didn’t really fit musically IMO, James Melodie’s are the same as the last album and just didn’t have any grab, and Rob barely ever got to shine on bass. Sure there were a couple good moments in songs, but overall lacking a lot of exploration and creativity. Hence the reason I’m giving it 2 out of 5 stars.
