This film is engrossing right from the beginning, quickly establishing characters, setting, and storyline, all enveloped in a mood of forboding and desperation. Eerily relatable to present day conversation and political confrontation, I would call it a cautionary tale. Like Dickens' ghost of Christmas future, it depicts things not as they will be, but as they might be if changes aren't made.
Well acted, with beautiful pastoral scenic photography juxtaposed with the horrors and destruction of warfare.
