Insipid and bland. A movie about the Mother of God is meant to touch our hearts and be a spiritual experience. Here Mary is treated just as a vessel to literally deliver the son of God with Joseph as a hanger on. The man in blue seems to be calling the shots. Honestly, the writing is atrocious and the dialogues cringe worthy. Anthony Hopkins hams it up as Herod. The narrative literally stand true to the Bible but is padded with situations that are quite laughable. The movie should have been called’ the birth of Jesus’ because the life of Mary after she gives birth is not dealt with. Mary Magdalene was a much better movie because it focused on the spiritual and the factual. In ‘Mary’ there is no focus at all. It’s like the ‘Omen’ and ‘ Rosemary’s Baby ‘ but instead of the son of Satan it’s the son of God. The people who made the movie have not understood Mary at all. She is here , watching over us . She is timeless, she is goddess. She is the mother of God, mother of us all.

A completely wasted effort. It can't get any worse than this. Although the premise is good, they made a mess of it. Muddled story line, absolute lack of characterization, zero chemistry between the lead actors and Samuel Jackson jumping around in a ridiculous wig!

Of all the dumb movies I have seen this one takes the cake!

All the Hollywood horror movie tropes are right here in troves, the creaking door, the maniac dog that comes out of nowhere, the doll, and to top it all, a refrigerator possessed with the spirit of a dead woman! It's all been done before and in this movie it's merely boring. The writing is lazy, the acting wooden and the plot so ridden with holes you could fall right in. The script doesn't give anyone any chance to do anything but go through the motions. Pritviraj is woefully under used and is more concerned about his looks. The most ridiculous part is the way the murder is shown. It is supposed to be gruesome but merely ends up being laughable. The murderer goes about doing the act like it's something you do on a daily basis. Honestly, this movie is the pits. Absolutely no redeeming feature. I suggest you give it a miss .
