Great game, buy it. The gunplay is fluid and responsive, the cheeky overly patriotic humor keeps me laughing, and the worldbuilding is excellent. You are able to earn credits in-game which allow you to get pay-for content, so if you play enough you don't miss any gear. It's definitely worth the price, and I have finally managed to get my gaming group to enlist in the Super Earth Galactic War effort. I have almost 200 hours in and have no plans to stop playing any time soon.
Pobody's nerfect, so here are the downsides...
1. Arrowhead sometimes struggles to understand how to balance the game. In recent past player weapon and perks have been nerfed to the ground while enemies are buffed. It's a Super Trooper power fantasy with guns and explosions, not a Souls-like. They've recently made huge fixes to these issues, so I am hopeful.
2. Some of the mission types get repetitive, and new story and mission content has been on a very slow trickle. There are big promises, but they have been in limbo for quite some time now.
3. Connection and matchmaking issues sometimes make finding a game difficult. I have played 35 minutes of a 40 minute mission just to have the game crash. THE PAIN...
