I am not a big fan of this game. What some people say in the reviews are right. The stages are fine by me, but the boss battles are so unfair and unforgiving. In Sonic Forces, after you complete a phase of a boss battle, when you die, you restart from that phase. But in this game, it doesn’t do that. I was once playing this game with my brother, and we beat Act 2 of Egg Fortress. The boss battle in the act is impossible for me to handle. I was so close to beating it, but when I was in the second phase, I died and I had to restart the entire boss again. I just tossed it aside and played something else after a few seconds. Not to mention that Press Factory is absolute bullsh*t. Act 1 is fine, but Act 2 is basically Labyrinth Zone from Sonic 1, but MUCH worse. And the boss battle is terrible. If you thought Sonic Unleashed was long, you’d better sit down. Because the act without the boss took me 15 minutes, but since the boss was so hard, the entire act, including the boss battle, took me 45 minutes. 45 MINUTES!!!!!!!!! The battle mode is the only thing good about this game, because the stages are just boring.

I love Sonic Forces; it’s one of my favorite Sonic games ever(don’t judge me). The Avatar and the Wispons were a good idea, and the Modern Sonic stages feel so cool. The Classic stages may be a little boring, but they’re not bad. My favorite stage in here has to be Capital City. It has so much action with Infinite tossing you around, the city being destroyed, and everything else about it. Honestly, I can see why people hate this game, but I really don’t mind.

I’ve never played the original Sonic Generations, but the Sonic story in here is so fun and not boring like Frontiers was. It has so many awesome boss battles and stages. Seaside Hill and Crisis City are the only bad ones, and it’s Shadow Generations that made me give it 3 stars. When I first played it, I figured it would be cool like Sonic’s story, but the boss battles and stages are so confusing. Even the controls could use a little work. And the abilities you unlock are straight up useless if you think about it. But the worst part is: why did they put in Chaos Island from Sonic Frontiers? Shadow wasn’t in that game and it kind of disappoints me that they didn’t put in a stage from Shadow’s original game named after him, so why Chaos Island? The Sonic story is such a banger and I would want to replay the game so badly. But Shadow’s story just ruins the experience for me.
