LOVED THIS FILM!!!! The acting is amazing, and it reminded me of GOOD-BYE, MR, CHIPS - it's rather the female version of that film, and it highlights the difficulty women faced in trying to enter and to teach in the halls of higher education around the turn of the century.
The film pulls at the heartstrings as Ella, brilliantly played by a stunning Martha Scott (we don't have stars of such radiant beauty today) suffers the trials and tributes of the pitfalls of both romance and entering the educational system at a time when women were not welcomed. If you liked GOOD-BYE, MR. CHIPS ( and who doesn't!!!) you will really enjoy this film.
