This movie is a toxic mix of incomplete character developments, random irrational plot lines and a full on identity crisis. The “humor” undermines any potentially scary scene in the entire movie.
The movie takes a full-steam-ahead approach to the horror elements, relying on hokey, predictable jump scares rather than building any atmosphere of suspense or terror. The jump-scare tactics (visible from miles away) combined with cartoonish CGI completely remove the viewer from the fear and terror the movie works so lazily to create.
There’s so much more I could say about what makes this movie so bad, but my thumbs would get tired from typing so much.
This wasn’t the worst movie I’ve ever seen, but BY FAR the most disappointing. See for yourself. 2/10
