I wish this was a star rating, bc though I like it, I don't love it. It's pretty cheesy & full of plot holes, but still enjoyable.

I really like this movie a lot, but I feel like some things could have been explained better, like the holodomor. A lot of people have never even heard of the holodomor, so it comes off a bit confusing. There was a somewhat lack of continuity at times, so I can see how people would lose interest. I'm glad I gave it a chance, though, because I got really into it & I appreciate the brutal reality of life post ww2 Russia that it portrays. Overall, I think it's a vastly underrated movie.
