I read it BEFORE giving it to my granddaughter- I IMMEDIATELY felt there was some “Hidden agenda” in the text! I did not like it- it INDEED DOES ENCOURAGE CHILDREN TO KEEP SECRETS FROM PARENTAL FIGURES! This IS NOT OKAY! Secrecy -as we all know- is a commonly used tool of predators! I wasn’t aware of the current issues regarding this book ( Jenifer Garner reading it to a classrm) until after I had read it & decided against passing on to my Gdaughter! Parents/ teachers.. JUST DONT! What is the point? There are many more books worthy of our children- but NOT THIS BOOK!
