I've always loved Survivor and have watched all and even watched seasons from other countries but 43 is terrible. Every week I find myself irritated. It's 10 episodes in and still not sure of some names because nothing memorable happens to anyone. I didn't like the changes of 42 either; but shorter episodes and only 29 days is boring. Dividing into 3 tribes, taking away flint and having to earn rice every challenge just annoying. How can interesting alliances form when groups are small from beginning and we at home don't see the learning curve of living, surviving, building bonds or even see the conditions. No time to make you like or care about the players when the whole episode is only 1 challenge, straight to tribal and you don't even see non-losers. I don't like the take or leave idols, stupid phrases, and ridiculous things they have to do to make idols active either. They seem to be trying to make it more interesting but it's just not, it's annoying. Just go back to idols that are worth finding and can be hidden to allow for surprise reveal. This latest episode shows an actual reward for a change and they got letters but who cares about people missing family when they've barely been away for 2 weeks and we haven't seen them actually surviving, struggling, or bonding, or fighting. Only conversations we ever see are about strategy but we don't know why people are allied or what the relationship is so can't judge if it's real or even care if people are honest lying. It's too fast to invest in and if the show continues like this I don't see bothering with future seasons. I'm sad that such a good show that I always looked forward to is dying before my eyes.
