I don't get why everyone is so obsessed with Mae's character, when I found her to be the most detestable character in the whole show, right next to the mother. Ok, I get that she was abused, and had a rough go at life, and Yada Yada Yada, but she is not even around her abusers anymore and she still can't talk about it????? Its like the whole damn show is just the mom trying to make a "safe space" for Mae to open up, even to the degree that she would KICK HER OWN DAUGHTER out of HER room to make space for this stranger-child who is not all there. I don't know how people can't see that Jules is the best character of the show. Her mom constantly pushes her to be a caretaker to this abused child, the way she is, all the while ignoring all the personal matters going on with Jules. And yeah, so what Jules doesn't have serious problems the way Mae does, but that's still HER DAUGHTER and she should be more concerned about how she is feeling then she is about a stranger child.
