I would rate it 3.5/5 if google allowed it because I feel that it isn’t just a “meh” show, but isn’t any modern masterpiece either. I will say that this is some big progress from the more recent live action Star Wars shows on Disney+ , however it does have a bit of short comings — not enough to say that it’s a bad show though!
1) The acting and casting I feel like was done pretty well, I do feel like the mixed ideas of different directors does take from the cohesiveness of the episodes though. I also wish they hadn’t casted non identical twins for the young Mei and Osha roles, since they are supposed to be identical, but it doesn’t hurt my feelings too much. (I sense they must have had trouble having the young girl for mei/osha perform both roles well and had to end up casting another sister to better convey the emotions in the scenes or something) [overall: 3.75/10]
2) the set design and thought into scenes seemed well done, however the episodes aren’t always cohesive due to different directors with different styles. I liked the detail that the sabots were thicker and possibly less advanced, as well as the star ship interior design looking more dated. Obviously, I could say much more detailed things but just wanted to point out some things I noticed [3.75/5]
3) To end off, in contrast to what most that are going to rate this at a 2-1 range will say is that most of this show is lore breaking and unthought out, but I would have to respectfully disagree. Even my review isn’t a complete review because the show still has one last episode remaining, but you can’t just say something is lore breaking after getting a partial glimpse of what is going on. Yes, the with were thought to be extinct during this period, yet how did Palpatine sneak right below the Jedis detection and eventually become the chancellor, because obviously there were some with that lived in hiding for millennia!! To me, it adds to the lore that the Jedi had faced a sith during the period of time where there should not have been such an occurance, and im interested to see how this whole thing gets covered up, just like the Brendok incident which sets the whole show in motion. So if anything, this show is positive in the lore category for me! People are just jumping the gun on hating the show just because of the lore not matching up from the start. I also liked the use of cortosis as the helmet for the villain [4.5/5]
4. My negatives of the show mainly are the occasional odd plot details (ei Sol holding up the bridge with the force instead of grabbing the girls with the force and Turbine speeder biking alone out of nowhere to the witch fort, and worst of all — the STONE fort catching fire like it was made of would which is the catylyst for the whole plot) this show plot was definitely not perfect, but overall I enjoyed it and liked the mystery elements within it. However I could definitely see some people saying it’s predictable, but again, I still have yet to watch the last episode which should wrap up some story arcs. Overall, I enjoyed it! [3/5]
