Before watching, I was aware that The Crowded Room is loosely based off of “The Minds of Billy Milligan”, so I went into this show knowing what the general plot line would turn out to be - or so I thought. The show was incredibly captivating, there were many moments that keep the viewer guessing and wanting more as the series unravelled.
Tom Hollands execution of Danny Sullivan (the character based off of Billy Milligan) was phenomenal. From only having seen Holland in movies such as The Avengers and Spider-Man, I was seriously impressed by the depth of Holland’s acting, he’s an incredibly talented actor and this is solid proof of that. His ability to portray a character with as much emotional depth as Danny Sullivan is impressive and I hope to see more of this in his career.
The show is definitely an emotional journey from start to finish, whether you have existing knowledge on this particular story; mental health or more specifically MPDs, I can assure you this show will keep you firmly invested, intrigued and will most likely have you in tears by the end of it.
Overall, if I was to sum up The Crowded Room in just a few words, they would be: Powerful, Inspiring and Wholesome.
