I've played this game for a good year now and this is my conclusion.
Simple negative key points:
1) This game is incomplete in the multiplayer and it really shows. Even the skins are incomplete, no customization for the American side. No stat tracking. No in game reporting (for ps4 at least) The game overall feels clunky and hard to control. Only 5 maps for conquest lol.
2) They wanted to change it to be more like COD and I hate it. It's fast paced, close ranged, run and gun BS. Nothing like how Battlefield used to be. It's so random and open, no longer viable or attractive to push as a team. You'll get sniped with a smg from 200 yds away, and a sniper rifle round to the chest will not kill your enemies.
3) The maps. Oh my goodness the maps are terribly thought out.
4) They abandoned patching this game, or adding content, or finishing features.
5) Its woke. Inaccurately represented on a historical level in order to push that stupid woke agenda everybody loves. Don't expect a WW2 representation.
6) Planes sucks. AA guns overpowered. Blown out of the sky almost as soon as you spawn. Planes offer virtually no air support to team. Expect to fly in circles and then die.
7) If you're a casual player, think back to COD and remember the frustration you'd feel at times. Spawn, die. Spawn, die. Spawn, die. Kill, die. This is going to be your experience in BF5 as well. You have to know how to cheat the system and take advantage in order to be good, it's not a rewarding game experience whatsoever. If I might say it, this is a very stressful experience, not something you'd want to do in order to relax after work.
Positive key points:
1) The good guns aren't hiding behind a paywall anymore. In exchange for that tho, they just dropped an unfinished game and abandoned it. Here's a game that lacks, but at least there's no 17 DLC's for $15 each. Classic EA gamer abuse, manipulation. EA is a big mistake for this franchise.
2) Medical pouch and ammo system was a good addition. I actually hope they keep it moving forward. Ammo and medical stations are strategic. No matter what class you are, you get one medical pouch to heal yourself with. Ammo for grenade and rocket launchers can be replenished by the ammo crates from support classes, and also the stations at objective points.
3) It is very cinematic at times, and the effects are pretty decent. Sometimes the multiplayer is like watching a movie.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend this game. After a year I ultimately went back to BF1, it's way better than BF5 if that gives you any reference.
Sorry for ranting in this. Let's hope BF2042 saves the day, but I'm not gonna get too excited until I see it myself. They need to step away from the changes they made in BF5 or otherwise it'll be trash again.
