First of all, I want to say that the game is worth the time. Easily in my top 5 of the series. However, thought I'd share some of my personal pros and cons. Pros: - Great graphics. They've really step up their game from the previous ones. - Very well done soundtrack - Many references to previous games (Magilou's "magikazam," Tales of Symphonia's stone embedded in humans, etc.) - Very customizable combat controls - The many different feel to each regions - Many sub quests to keep you busy for a while. - Funny owls hunt Cons: - The story is a bit predictable - Characters' developments and interaction is limited/inexistant. It felt repetitive at times with characters really set in their ways with very little depths compared to previous games) - Missing anime feel. Tales got me used to little skit with anime humour and characters which, I thought, was part of the charm of those games. These are replaced by skits with 3D models and a more serious tones for the majority of those. - A lot of mistakes in the written texts. Many repeated words, spaces missing, entirely different text on screen than what was being said, mostly in the second half of the game (probably due to the problems associated with the pandemic and that might be corrected in future patches) As I said, i still think this game was really enjoyable, and i will most likely replay it in the future. I do recommend it highly.
