So here I am on the bus home after viewing Superman. Now just to clarify I was a huge Christopher Reeve superman fan, quite enjoyed Man of Steel but couldn’t get behind BvS and JL. Did honestly try to enjoy them but know there was too much pressure/interference from WBs to catch up with Marvel. Anyhow - the new film. I feel a tad lost. Not blown away nor disappointed. I enjoyed it, managed to follow it all ok and thought the casting and acting is fantastic. I think what destroys what could have been an almost perfect film is the constant need for a joke/laugh or comedic presence. Superman shines bright without comedy. So just let him sore! Green lantern stole the show though. Would I recommend it? Yes I would. Would I buy it? No I wouldn’t. Having said all that though, I’m looking forward to whatever happens next in James Gunns “super verse”. Spoiler: The two end credits are not worth the watch.
