The initial reviews really made me think this movie would be like any other generic horror movie, but I was proven wrong. As a teenage girl, the plot surrounding unicorns already intrigued me, since I remember how much I loved unicorns when I was younger. And now, I think this movie may have reawakened that love. For a comedic horror film filled with gore and unconventional deaths, the emotional scenes came as such an unexpected, bittersweet surprise. I found myself in tears near the end from just how beautiful the complex father-daughter relationship was portrayed. And thinking deeper, this movie had such a beautiful message of femininity and what it truly means. The girl you see moody, and "destroying" her body all the time, is just as pure at heart as the fair maidens in the paintings, and I loved that message. Even for a horror film, it had such an empowering message that made me feel great about myself when leaving the theater. I'm not great at writing serious reviews, so this may come off as rambling to whoever may be reading this, but my point stands. This movie was outstanding, from the effects and soundtrack, to the message and acting. I loved it so much
