The Kerela Story is a bold attempt to touch upon a universally known yet seldom accepted, under the wraps indoctrination of innocent and gullible youth in certain states of India and predominantly in God's Own Country.
The movie deserves kudos for the sheer endeavour to unearth the gory and dirty business of religious conversion right under the very noses of Indian establishment. Having said that the script somehow lacks punch and seems a case of opportunity lost.
The back and forth of the narrative between Kerela, Afghanistan, Srilanka, Syria border and back to India is too repetitive and actually just kills the ntensiry of the plot.
Acting by the lead protagonist and supporting cast is good but gets marred by lack of depth in the story telling and screen play.
At some point the movie does seem to be a subtle effort to belittle if not insult a particular section of the society.
Thorough Research seems lacking.
Overall it's a good one time watch and does open your eyes to the deadly, well designed, dangerous world of indoctrination which is slowly but surely spreading fast like cancer in the Indian fabric ruining young gullible minds more so in student fraternity.
Every True Indian at heart must watch this story once.
