I cannot for the life of me determine why this show was made in the way it was.
I was left feeling bored, frustrated, and immensely disappointed at the end. Why should I care about the characters? The interesting ones are ignored while the main character is obnoxious, childish, and immensely selfish. The only character I will likely remember is Beatrix, and only because she is an awful person who is remarkable in the actions she makes with seemingly no morals or concerns (which is explained by her parents being killed I guess? Not really that intriguing or innovative). Where is the character development? None of these characters actually grow (unless you consider ten minutes of "I'm sorry, I was awful" or suddenly becoming a better person (stella) to be character development. What is with the story? They throw around things here and there without really explaining anything and a majority of the decisions made by specifically the main character (though others like Dane, Riven, etc apply as well) lack EVEN A BASIC sort of common sense and left me frustrated in that even a child would be smarter/less naive than the main character as written. Additionally, it is rated mature but plays out like a kids/early teens show, there is nothing mature about the content, characters, or story.
In summary this was utterly disappointing and in my opinion not worthy of a second season with the current character development, story, and writing/dialogue. ESPECIALLY when there are much more interesting, well written, and genuine shows out there which have not been renewed.
