Since this movie is better then average with a talented cast, I’m rating it 4 stars. However, in my opinion THE BEST Little Women version was the one with Winona Rider, Christian Bale and Susan Sarandon. There are times when shifting the time sequence can be effective but it served no purpose in the telling of this story. This isn’t a murder mystery! Having it unfold chronologically is much more satisfying and truer to the novel. So, if you haven’t seen the Winona Rider version, please do.

Albert Finney knocks it out of the park. Wonderful rendition largely due to him. Alec Guinness is also priceless as Jacob Marley.
