I'm not exactly sure why this book is so popular.
From the very beginning, it was a cheesy foundational build. I'm not big on fantasy or romance books, but I had multiple friends tell me to read it. So I thought I'd give it a shot. It was pretty corny writing that started to develop into angsty teenage writing. Then, it got soap-opera-y and had young adults with very intimate scenarios. So some smutty stuff for readers who enjoy that.
I read mostly horror, thrillers, and/or educational subjects I'm interested in. I thought I'd try something out of my wheelhouse and it reminded me why I typically stick to what I read normally.
I know people who like this genre are pretty interested in the series.
If you're not very much into fantasy or romance centered books, I would recommend skipping this.
