I think that this movie had a really interesting style, but sadly it really isn't as good as the books. The plot holes are manageable in it, but the acting can be quite flat. Asa Butterfield is a brilliant actor, but because he's been forced into doing an American accent every word sounds robotic and devoid of emotion. Many of the performances felt this way. But there are some really cool bits. Altogether it's a nice watch but don't expect too much.
