Why is this book being read every single day to my 3rd grader in Fairfax County Public Schools? One of the focuses in the book and then questions being asked by the teacher to the children is who has a crush on who and the characters in the book tell the other characters they hate them. I mean, this cannot be the book for 3rd grade that an actual language arts curriculum is based on. I mean I would rather them teach them cursive. Have good old fashioned spelling tests!!! This book is unintelligent and regardless of the age group, should not be in an education curriculum. This is equal to my 3rd grade teacher reading aloud Judy Blume and then us having to do a book report on it.
