this film was poignant, an exact description of attitudes of the time. Superb acting brought strength to the brilliant characters of Ibsen in a 1970s version of this epic play by Ibsen. Claire Bloom's Nora , fragile yet strong, Anthony Hopkins' Torvald flawed, vulnerable, yet keeping within the tightly scripted role expected of him. Denholm Eliot, intriguing, Anna Massey bringing back the past in a practical way. Ralph Richardson adorable as the Doctor. I shall watch this more times. The scenery brought back the Norway of my motherland.

This book, like Sweet Caress and Love is Blind, is a page turner. It had me gripped during a few days of Lockdown, the rather adorable Logan Mountstuart and his extraordinary adventures and scrapes that have one gripping the seat. The tender poignancy and tragedies that weave through this gripping set of diaries had me lose hours, following the inner thoughts of this remarkable diarist. I shall miss Logan's diary entries, which took him across the globe. A wonderful book. I am off to find the next William Boyd novel.
