So I hate to say this but:
This feels like something that should have remained private but was only released as a cash cow. I don’t see any reason why this documentary should have been made at this time- the aura of Jayne Mansfield has faded. She wasn’t that special to begin with, but everyone who was truly interested in her is no longer. Her daughter, who has never been particularly famous or that great of an actress decides to make a documentary about her mother, whose loss I am not diminishing- it is very, very sad and awful to lose a parent at any age, to any kind of death, but especially something so tragic. But, this seems like cashing in and making money off of a tragedy. Which is in bad taste.
Nothing new is covered here. Anyone interested had these details. It doesn’t come across as a tribute. It feels like a hollow shilling for cash. It doesn’t feel heart felt. It feels cheap. Also, her daughter has been on Law and Order for years, but that’s not exactly award winning acting. It’s more like a law soap opera. It’s watchable, but you’re not getting anything real out of it. Which, is exactly like this documentary. You’re not getting anything real out of it.
0/5- waste of time
