!!!SPOILERS!!! This book was not bad. I think it was well written, but I think the authors ideas didn’t blend in with the storyline that well. Why did Richard start his aggressive streak? We’re given a reason, it’s not good enough for such a huge switch in character. Also, how does one suddenly become rogue like that? It just doesn’t make sense to me because if they’ve seen him drunk and he didn’t act that way before, why is he acting that way now? It seems like Rio wanted Richard to become an aggressive character but didn’t properly plan out his character development. I also don’t like Meredith’s character at all. In a lot of stories there’s the sexy, seductive side character but Meredith is overwritten. From the fact she had the “perfect body” to being the most beautiful person Oliver has ever seen, she just seemed to be in the book to be sexualized by the readers. I would recommend this book to first time Dark Academia readers, but I think if you want to read a book in this genre The Secret History is much better. They have semi similar storylines.
