It is essential for any non black person to commit to reading many books about the black history and experience in America. By reading enough by black writers, a white person can finally begin to understand an entirely different existential reality that blacks people live and have lived. Most non black people live a fable about black life. Black life: triumphant, tragic, painful, abundantly loving, incredible struggle, faith driven, hopelessness, success, failure, rage, anger, self destruction, overcoming etc. the black experience is as singular as the white experience. If a white person is truly committed to living a life of truth then it is incumbent upon them to do all they can to understand the existential realities of all other races.
