Trying so hard to get into "The Veil" starring Elisabeth Moss, but it's extremely tough. Moss is supposed to be this "best kept secret," but it's all so cringe worthy. She is by far one of the clumsiest actresses, and she brings that to every fight scene she does. The blotchy skin, the bad makeup, the gnarly hair, and of course, they all want her. Just like with "The Handmaid's Tale," there are loads of just right up in her face scenes. Like "stop it already!" At least give her some makeup. I just don't get why she is always cast as some seductress that all of the men desire. Do you think we're blind?
The rest of the characters are somewhat alright. Josh Charles was an extremely bad cast move. I could maybe believe he was some big American agent if this were a comedy.
The writing and plot are beyond silly. They're all a bunch of idiots. They can't seem to bother with using any decent technology. The agent looks right at him yet no camera, nothing recorded, he shoots her, and they have no idea who he is. Just stupid. They are called body cams. Hello! Let alone the headshot to a man that was going to surrender. Is this a comedy?
The ending proves how awful the writing is. Moss's character is nothing but in the way, and she was literally too stupid to realize some major secret kept from her that was pretty much right in front of her face.
Also, unless there are loads of Russian ships that routinely dock at US ports, the whole premise of this series was quite idiotic.
