This show has decent cinematography, like with the surfing scenes. The problem is that it’s a reused template for a surfing shot. Que the dramatic music, have them ride to the top of the wave, do a trick while slowing the shot down, then cut a few more times before the surfer comes in. They do that fifteen times per episode. The writing: Horrible. Shallow minimal effort cash grab writing. I could do better right now. I can’t tell if the show is centered around surfing or teen drama. I guess both but the drama/story telling isn’t very deep at all. So it’s just the bare minimum drama, then some cookie cutter surfing scenes, then back to teen drama, and repeat for 20 minutes. Then the acting: Maybe the storytelling/writing would have been better had the acting talent been more capable. Unfortunately I think this is just a low budget show meant to make as much money as possible by capitalizing on teen emotion and lack of taste. That’s not the actors’ fault though. I think this is a first project for many of them. In all, watch this if you want to just have something on that’s mildly entertaining, but don’t expect anything truly meaningful or deep of it.
