I came across this series quite by accident. When you search for a show on Netflix and it can’t find the exact result, then it will suggest a few others of that genre. Same thing happened with me. I was looking for some other show from the supernatural category and Netflix didn’t have it. But it showed Lucifer among the results and just out of curiosity, I decided to watch. Little did I know that after watching the first episode, I was going to spend my entire weekend doing nothing but binge-watching the entire 3 seasons. It is one of the best TV shows that I have ever sen and is now among my favorite ones. Below is a short review detailing what I liked about the Lucifer series so much and why I would recommend that you give it a try. For a brief introduction and without adding any spoilers, Lucifer is a series about Lucifer himself. Yes, the Satan but without all his evil side. Imagine what would happen if the devil got fed up by hell and decided to live among us humans as a normal person. Rather, think how it would be if he joined the cops and decided to solve crimes. That is what this series is all about. Our superhero here is the devil but in a charming and funny way. In a nutshell, Lucifer is one of the best shows that I have seen in a very long time; and I have seen quite a few of them. It has a perfect balance of humor and drama.If you thought that you will end up watching another one of the great battles between angels and demons than you are wrong. Lucifer is a quirky and somewhat mischievous take on the fallen angel. Far from menacing and being the greatest evil, Lucifer in this show is a charming gentleman. He wears nice suits, drives stylish cars, and talks in a charming accent. Lucifer here is a womanizer who owns a night club and is fun to be with. He is frustrated by how he has been portrayed as an evil person to the entire world which he is absolutely not. The best part about this show is in its character development. It pays great attention to developing the characters as the story moves along. And it is not just the two main characters Lucifer & Chloe that grow throughout the series, but also all the other major characters. From the description it may seem as just another angels and demon; or another cop show with a twist, but it is so much more. The humor is just great and I found myself laughing out loud several times in several episodes. There is a murder mystery in every episode that gets investigated and solved. Even those small mysteries and are very interesting. Soundtracks are very good, the music is a mix of pop, rock and rap, which will resonate with audience in youthful fashion. In terms of acting, all the actors play their part very well. The love story between Lucifer and Chole is just amazing and you will wait for them to eventually get together. After watching the series, I did a bit of Google search and read that Fox cancelled it. It almost broke my heart because I so loved the show. But then I read that it was renewed for a 4th Season by Netflix itself and I am already waiting to watch more of it. For now, give it a try and watch the 3 seasons, you will not be disappointed. Just keep an open mind, ignore the “if, how, but and why” and enjoy the show for what it is. I hope the review above on Lucifer series was of help.
