Young Sheldon is wholesome, heartwarming and hilarious. I discovered it less than a year ago and have watched all episodes through season 4. The characters are very authentic and relatable. The humor is subtle, not slapstick, and makes me laugh out loud. It is a great way to start the day with laughter as I have been watching it while I eat breakfast and have my morning coffee. The best thing about it is that there is no laugh track.
Sheldon is precocious, unlike his twin, Missy. The parents, Mary and George, handle their parental roles with patience and flexibility but also apply discipline when necessary. They are great role models for parents of today even though the show is set in a previous decade, possibly the 70's, although Mary's habit of wearing dresses daily makes it appear to be the 50's. I love the relationship between Meemaw and John Sturgess. It proves that opposites can and do attract.
Finally, I am so excited to learn that season 5 starts next week. And then to read that there will also be a season 6 and 7. I'm in heaven!
Please don't change anything. The characters are perfect and delightful. Kudos to the writers for making the humor subtle and not using a laugh track.
