This movie addressed so many things women hold onto in life, that they aren't good enough or thin enough or young or pretty enough...ah... Youth is truly wasted on the young. I truly understood why Emma's character, of "Nancy" wanted to branch out and try new things and get the annonymonity of a sex worker. For the people that say this movie was boring or uncomfortable, that, to me says more about them than about the movie.
To make such an amazing film basically with 2 characters going through all the baggage they carry with them is intense.
To go for so long in not appreciating your body and holding onto Catholic guilt and feeling that sex acts meant to be pleasurable are just base and degrading or shameful is something both characters work through and come out the other side of. This was not meant to be a rom com or a redo of Pretty Woman where it is from the other perspective or a film where both of the characters end up together living happily ever after. Their happily ever after was that they worked through their baggage with the help of the other.
It was truly a great movie.
