Have you seen it? You have seen it. ‘Course you have seen it. Everybody’s seen it.
Now that we know everybody’s seen it, we can finally start obsessing over LJ’s clothes (among other things) and finally go on that crazy shopping spree. Just kidding, I already bought the new scrunchies, suckers!
Okay, okay, let’s really get started. The first half was dragged and the second half was rushed because of it. The time wasn’t evenly divided because, apparently, making the perfect film for Valentine’s day is more important than making a sequel.
LJ and Peter weren’t given as much time as the last film and I feel like maybe their chemistry needed a little bit more work. And the chemistry between Lana and Jordan was sweet, but again, wasn’t done justice.
And the way LJ ended things with John? I mean, I am team Peter all the way, but even I have to agree he deserved better than a sorry. Stormy’s scenes again seemed way too less because of the time thing and therefore came off looking unnecessary. And the ending scene was super rushed. Like, seriously. It gave too many cliche rom-com vibes for even me to handle. Gen and LJ weren’t given enough screen time and we didn’t get as much time to process as it should have been. It was like, LJ and Gen have a moment and it is basically the defining point of the fil- oh, hey, we almost forgot all about star ball. It’s awesome.
Also, did you know Jordan Fisher is a serial killer? Cause of his killer looks?
The soundtrack? It was a pleasant surprise to hear “Let’s Kill This Love”. I almost freaked again when I heard Billie’s voice (first was when they had just released the film).
Point? The movie overall is adorable. It failed as a follow up to To all the boys I have loved before, but passed as a sweet little thing you can watch with your valentine. Heck, I want to make a boyfriend ’cause I wanted to watch it with him coz it’s, in Kitty’s words, super adorable.
