A little suspicious of the reviews that are overly-effusive here. My wife and I watched this on Xmas, going in with fun expectations but neutral about WW in general. We both liked the first one. This one.....at about 40 min in we both looked at each other and was like “Do you know what’s going on? Because I don’t completely.” We kept watching because we had nothing better to do. But, yeah, I’m not sure how some of these other reviews say the 2.5 hours fly by (uh, yeaaah.) But the pace was awkward, the story goals evasive, and the overall tone a bit confusing. Even the CG effects at times felt unfinished or low-budget. It was surprising how amateur it felt at times, given the resources the filmmakers had after the success of the first one. Anyway, probably smart it was released on HBO Max (which we already subscribe to). Word of mouth may have hurt this. I really hope Patty Jenkins is working with a much better script on “Rogue Squadron” which I was excited about. Honestly a little nervous now.
