This movie absolutely blew me away. Great watch for all ages honestly. Hits the comedy bug, but also a great overall plot and story. Creative writing and amazing cast. 10/10.

Most people giving this show 1 star are Tolkien disciples who get mad when they see something in this series is not an exact carbon copy of the source material. If you simply watch the show as a fan of all things Middle-Earth, it's a 4.5/5 star series.

I was definitely a little surprised to see so many "indifferent" type reviews of this show. I started watching the Afterparty with zero expectations and solely off of some recommendations. After finishing the series I can honestly say I was extremely impressed! In no way is this supposed to be a laugh-out-loud comedy like some people seemed like they were expecting. But rather it's a light, and very situationally comedic take on a murder investigation. In some ways it reminded me of the movie Knives Out because of that. I LOVED how each episode was essentially a different character's perspective on what happened during the night. Made me feel like I was doing some detective work, finding inconsistencies in some of their stories. I can agree that some scenes felt like the comedy was a bit forced, BUT the characters were able to pull it off. I'd definitely recommend the After Party.
