As an Asian, I don't find the accent disturbing. Props to the references spotted, Close Encounters, ET, The Signs, and don't forget Fire in the Sky. The plot twist is something new, something like faith or fear of the unknown. The forest scene was great. I find the silent acting a little sloppy though, could have done better. I'm not a fan of transparent greys similar to Annihilation, darker ones gives the creeps.
