As a massive lover of “Marie Antoinette”, “Priscilla” was a delight to watch. As always, Sofia’s brilliant eye and attention to detail along with the gorgeous cinematography enhance an already thrilling, heartbreaking story. Myself a 28 year old woman, Sofia transports you back to the early years of being an American teenager and the feelings of naive possibility. Watching Priscilla’s transformation from young girl to young woman resonated with me greatly, although at times it was painful to watch her lose herself. Backlash was to be expected, considering Elvis is beloved and untouchable, but this film is so important and with time I truly believe critics who believe Elvis was portrayed unfairly will perhaps develop more compassion for Priscilla and what she endured.
