I'm really sorry as had hoped reviews from readers on previous books would have, at least in part, been acted on when writing Red Sky Mourning. Unfortunately it's not the case and if anything the subjects raised in previous negative comments have only increased. First of all Red Sky Mourning seems to be one long commercial. There doesn't seem to be one chapter that doesn't have 'product placement'. Totally appreciate that 'PP' generates revenue and promotes more "clicks" on Social Media but the volume is overwhelming and spoils the flow of the story. Secondly, I get that the books have a core audience that will have an interest in "tools" and their uses. But describing them in detail, especially in the middle of an action scene, takes away the excitement that is supposed to be generated. The final point is that the story seems to be built around how many weapons can be mentioned in each chapter. Why would someone sitting at their desk at home be wearing. Regardless of holster it's never comfortable and not something you would wear around the house. I wanted to like the series and hoped the stories would mature with each book but unfortunately I think this might be my last book.
